Thanksgiving celebrations

I absolutely love the holiday season!! This time of year always reminds me how blessed we are to be surrounded by our loving family and friends. I like to get Christmas lights up early and fully enjoy busting out the Christmas music any chance I get, I also like to watch Home Alone to get in the holiday spirit. I do not however, enjoy shopping with the masses...you will NOT find me anywhere near a retailer on Black Friday, that's for sure! Cyber Monday, much more my speed! The Saturday before Thanksgiving we were able to catch up with our good friends from Mazeppa when they came over for one last grill out of the season...yes Jan, you heard that right, we were outside grilling up burgers on November 21st in MN, the weather has been beautiful!! Steve was able to join us as well as Dan and Sarah who brought their girls, Emma and Maggie to play with Josiah. The girls love babies, especially Maggie and Josiah was in awe of them...check out his face in these pictures, the first one is my favorite:
This year we were able to enjoy one Thanksgiving feast a day starting at Cindy and Gary'a with the whole Friedt family on Thursday. Josiah loved watching cousin Addison run around, she is a mover and shaker so he was thoroughly entertained! He also spent some time catching up with Uncle Josh and showed off in the Jumperoo. I don't have any pictures from that but stay tuned for a fancy edited video soon!
On Friday we enjoyed another day of good food and great company when we celebrated with my mom and dad and the Becker clan. Josiah had his other cousin Miles to keep him entertained there as well as 5 dogs! Yes, you read that right...5 dogs! My parent's dog Beamer invited his doggie pals Tinker and Tessie (Robin and Kyle's cockapoos), Sadie May (Brian and Blair's yellow lab) and Casey (cousin Jerry's golden retriever) over for Thanksgiving this year. It was surprisingly calm with all our furry pals waiting quietly for the turkey to be carved and served to them. They were a bit dismayed when the platter wasn't set within their reach but waited patiently for the humans to eat what they wanted and then sneak little bits to them under the table! Sadie went a step further and waited until the leftovers were placed on the deck to stay cool in lieu of free fridge space...she helped herself to most of the platter of left over turkey:-) Oh well, we didn't need all that extra triptophan (sp?) anyway, right?! Sadly I have no pictures of that moment but imagine our surprise when we went to have seconds later in the evening and found just a few morsels of turkey left on the platter:-) I'm sure our faces were priceless:-) I have only have two pictures to post from Friday but if you're interested, I know that Robin has many more on their blog: kroeningfamily.blogspot.com
Our best attempt at a picture of the boys with Grandma Sissy...maybe next time!
Watching Signing Time with cousin Miles
From the Friedt family to everyone, we hope that you had a very blessed Thanksgiving!!!

Yes, I'm in total shock! We're not even doing much grilling here! I can see what a chunky monkey Josiah is in the first set of pictures! I love those cutie pie chubby cheeks.

Oh and speaking of fun Christmas things like lights and music, Sherry ordered lefse for us to eat on Christmas. Of course the only place you can order it from is MN! I'll be telling the kids to eat up so they can thank those Norwegian genes for their blue eyes.
