Scoooooby-Dooby Doo

A few weeks ago Josiah scraped his knee so I put a band-aid on it.  Ever since then he needs a "gicka" (sticker) applied every day to his "so nee" (sore knee).  The band aids have Scooby on them so whenever I put them on I say "Scoooooby Dooby Doo" and here is Josiah's impression of me....

You have a baby...in a bar...

Well, yes but no.  We decided to head out for happy hour a few days ago with Grandma Sissy and the gang.  We chose a local bar/restaurant called Paradise Pete's.  This has been our go-to place for awhile now because it's never too busy, has good food, decent specials and the best part...the boys and Nykki can be loud but no one cares there:-)  Thanks to HH prices, fun was had by all...who can beat a $2.99 chicken sandwich and fries or the $1.99 onion petals??  Here are a few shots from the fun:

Love this face

"Good one Papa!"

"Whoa, cool ceiling fans man!"

Baby Callan realizing that he's indeed stuck with us as his family...sorry buddy:-)

"Oh come on Uncle Marc, I can have the orange slice from your beer, Mom would be totally cool with that!"  Not.

Strange bedfellows

Josiah has decided that his Bestie, Froggie, not only needs to attend every bath but he now has a "sweep-over" most nights too...

Baby Callan

Josiah L.O.V.E.S his cousins!  He gets SOOO excited to see them and asks about them all the time.  His newest cousin Callan gets a wrinkly nosed smile everytime Josiah says his name, it's pretty cute.  Here are a couple pictures from our recent visit to see "Bay Callnan" (Baby Callan)

Every boy needs....

...an audience of besties when taking a bath, don't they??  Check out the entourage we had in the bathroom with us this morning:

Notice the waning interest level as you move left to right

Now for a little video for Daddy and the rest of the travelling Friedts:

Bedtime "routine"

The experts recommend setting up a bedtime routine with your child at a very early age so that they learn to wind down and go to sleep on their own.  Well, we haven't exactly followed that advice to a "T" but luckily, Josiah doesn't seem to notice.  He is an excellent sleeper and goes to bed at the drop of a hat even if we are somewhere else and have the pack-n-play set up.  I attribute that mostly to the fact that he learned to sleep at Nana and Gramma's in their pack-n-plays during his first year and feels very comfy and safe in them.  But I digress, back to the "routine".  The other night I had the camera handy so I video taped how the "routine" went on this particular evening.  As you can see, there is little "routine" to it, it's more a mad dash scramble on Josiah's part to get one last "play" in with all of his toys before he goes to sleep:-)  But no matter, right after the camera stopped rolling I laid him down and he was out for the next 11 hours!  Yes, we realize we are lucky!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a low-key Valentine's Day this year opting to stay home and cook instead of brave the restaurant scene.  I made dinner and Cindy and Gary joined us to get in a few last minutes with Josiah before they embark on a 3 week adventure to Texas!  Side note: Seth and Noah will be joining them for the ride down and then flying back next Thursday so you'll likely see more posts over the next few weeks of mostly pictures so they can keep up with Josiah's adventures:-)  Back to the subject at hand: Valentine's Day.  It was like any other day except we got to finish with a sweet treat from cousins Miles and Henry and a final *bang* thanks to some whack-a-pack fun from the Dollar Store.  Hope you all had a wonderful day and got to celebrate with your loved ones!!

All decked out in red for the day...even had his red shoes on!

Yummy cupcake, thanks Miles and Henny Bug!!

Peas, peas and more peas

Josiah is a picky eater and keeps us on our toes trying to find foods he will consistently eat.  The ironic thing with him is that the only thing I have found that he will eat no matter what, are peas.  Yes, you read that correctly, peas.  My mom is an avid pea-hater and is dismayed at the prospect of having a grandson who LOVES her least favorite food but here is video evidence.  Sorry Mom:-)
