Another birthday party!

We had a second birthday party this month, this one was for my cousins Olivia and Ellie. Grandma Greseth had us over for a yummy dinner of sloppy joes! Then, the important part, gifts!! It was great to get to spend some quality time with them and catch up. Happy Birthday Olivia and Ellie!!
Birthday cupcakes!
Ellie and I are the "bookends" of the Greseth cousins, we are the youngest and the oldest, can you guess which one is which?!

Dan turns 30!!

Our good friend, Dan Nelson, turned 30 this month!! His wife, Sarah, planned a great party for him and invited a bunch of people to help welcome Dan into his *gasp* thirties!! Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and we got 7 inches of snow that day followed by bitter cold and wind. But no weather could keep some of us from braving the elements to be there for the par-tay! Even though many people weren't able to make it we still had a great time and yummy food too. Dan and Sarah's girls were there and entertained us with their smiles and stories:-) All in all it was a great evening! We are so blessed to have such great friends! Happy Birthday Dan!
Sisterly love:-) Aren't they sweet??

The Great Room Shift

Not too much new to report on the baby front....just cooking away:-) I'm still feeling pretty good overall, a few migraines here and there but nothing else really so I'm counting my lucky stars! Christmas is FAST approaching this year and our tree isn't up yet. I have to say that normally, I would not defend this because I like to have the decorations up right after (if not a little before) Thanksgiving but this year is a little different. With Baby F on the way and Seth now working from home, the great "room shift" is happening at our house. We have moved my clothes out of the bigger spare bedroom and into the master bedroom (a mere 15 months after I moved in but who's counting), then moved the futon upstairs to that spare bedroom and Seth's desk and office stuff into there as well so we now have a functional office/guest room! The next step is for me to go through and reorganize the 15 boxes/containers currently residing in the living room and get them downstairs to storage. After that, the tree can go up!! And then, it's on to painting the now vacant smaller spare room and getting the nursery set up!! It's so fun to see it all coming together after SO many months of planning! Yes, for those of you who know me or my husband well, you know that we plan everything for a LONG time before actually moving forward. It's the "measure twice, cut once" life theory we operate under most of the time:-) Once it's all finished, I will post pictures but at this point it's just a scary mangle of boxes and junk and I really don't want anyone to see it:-)

New pictures of Baby Friedt

I had another Ultrasound on Friday! Seth couldn't come with so my mom and his mom came along to see the Bean, it was such a special moment to be able to share with them both! And it was so much fun to see the him/her again:-) This time was even more exciting because he/she was moving around like crazy, waving it's little arms and much to Grandma Cindy's delight, sucking his/her little thumb:-) Seeing the baby move around made it even more real than ever, what a miracle this whole process is!! I also got to meet my OB doctor for the first time and he is SO nice, I'm feeling very fortunate to have gotten him for a doc. He is very calm and patient and happy to answer all my crazy questions. With it being Thanksgiving, Seth and I have talked a lot in the past few days about how lucky and incredibly blessed we are to be surrounded by all of our family and friends all the time but especially now as we wait to meet our little one. Thank you all for your support and love, it means the world to us!! Here are a couple pictures of the baby from Friday, enjoy:-)

Figured out my "neck" problem

So, for the past couple of weeks I've been asking every mom and/or pregnant woman I saw if she had experienced neck pain and bad headaches with pregnancy and got a lot of "Well, headaches yes but neck pain, no" so I of course thought that I was doing something wrong! I changed pillows, tried sleeping in different positions, etc. and it got better for a few days and then came screaming back this past Friday. I began to suspect migraines but wasn't getting the normal "spot" in my eyes that I usually get with migraines so I wasn't sure. Then yesterday, almost as soon as I hopped out of bed, wham-o, the spot showed up and I spent the rest of the day on the couch with an ice pack...continually refilled by my WONDERFUL husband who put up with his whining wife all day without complaint, he's the best! So, I guess I can cancel my order for the "Super-duper, neck-pain free wonder pillow" I had on order:-) They say migraines are pretty common for pregnant woman so I guess I'm one of them! Serves me right for walking around bragging about how lucky I was to have skipped morning sickness:-) Oh well, it's all for the greater good! In other news, we have another Dr. appointment on Friday morning and may get to have another ultrasound! We'll keep you posted:-)

Grandma Becker is moving!

Well, after 47 years in one house, my Grandma Becker has decided she's ready to try aparment living! We are so excited for her, the place she has moved to is absolutely beautiful! She has a cute one bedroom apartment with a big bathroom, nice open living room and kitchen. On top of that, it's a locked building with underground heated parking so she is secure and safe! Here are a few pictures of the move:
While we are all busy as bees at Grandma's, Olivia has been a savior by staying with Nykkole and keeping her happy! Thanks Olivia!
This one is for you Jan...we still have all of these lovely hats should you need to borrow one, we know of your love for quirky hats:-)
Just one of Dad's hidden treasures we uncovered
Tiny wine glasses...hey, I'll be able to use them in 7 months right??
The boys played Paper/Rock/Scissors to see who won this gem, can you guess who beat who?
We all gathered to help and decide which treasures we each got to keep from Grandma's house
Just a few of the tireless helpers who have been so kind to volunteer time with us the past few weeks!! Thank you!!
Grandma's neighbor Rosie...she is sad to leave the neighborhood but knows that she takes lifelong friends with her, we'll still get to see Rosie every other Thursday at Becker's Biggest Loser night!
Pricing for the sale, literally hundreds of items!

It's A baby!!

Well, we just got back from our first Ultrasound and all is well:-) For those of you hoping for multiples...sorry to disappoint but there is just one little bean in there:-) He/she is healthy and growing perfectly so far, we didn't get to hear the heartbeat but we did see it on the screen beating away at 144 beats/minute. Needless to say we are thrilled and so grateful that everything is going well and we have a healthy baby on the way!! Thank you to all of you who were sending prayers up for us, we truly do appreciate it!

Halloween 2008

As many of you know, we have an Annual Becker Halloween Bash and everyone really gets into dressing up! It's so much fun and it's always a hoot to see how creative people get with their costumes:-) This year was no different...check out a few of the creative party-goers:
McCain and Palin (aka Marc and Jen)

Doug and Kari from King of Queens (aka Blair and Brian)

Hot Dog vendors and their little hot dog (aka Kyle, Robin and Miles)

Weekly update

So I figured that I should at least blog weekly since I promised to keep up:-) The last week has been fairly uneventful where Baby Friedt is concerned. I have been very tired and had some kidney pain but other than that I'm feeling pretty good. No real nausea to speak of yet...it's getting a little harder to stomach breakfast the past few days but if I push past the first few bites I'm usually good to go! In case you missed the previous blog, we have our first ultrasound on Monday and I can't wait!! It will feel so good to see the little bean on screen and hear it's heartbeat...I think I will be able to relax a little more and stop worrying so much about every little pain...I hope:-) At very least we'll know how many little beans are in there...we are still hoping for just the one but again will take whatever God has decided to bless us with! We did have one development in Baby land, we purchased the Nursery furniture! A little early you say? Yes, I'm inclined to agree but when you find a good deal on Craigslist, how can you pass it up? I'll include a picture below...keep in mind that it's from the seller so all of the pink in the room is no indication of Baby Friedt's gender, it's way to early to tell obviously:-) In other news, Seth's last day at his current job is Friday and next week marks the start of a new adventure for him! He is going to be working in partnership with a college friend doing corporate video production. It is a big step for him and one that we are both very excited about! He's a little nervous as it is a big change but I have every confidence in him and know that he will do great!! Well, I think that's it from the Friedt household...for now....stay tuned:-)

First Appointment Scheduled!

So I FINALLY made the call and I have my first Dr appointment. Well, it's not exactly a Dr appointment, it's an ultrasound!! Because we were seeing a Reproductive Endocronologist (Infertility Doc) and I had been taking Clomid, they do a "Confirmation Ultrasound" and then depending on the results they refer me to a doctor. What is a Confirmtaion Ultrasound you ask? Basically, it's to confirm the pregnancy (in case the 9 home tests I took were all innaccurate, which the nurse I talked to assured me they were not:-)) and also to confirm that there is only one little Friedt on the way. While I think multiples are a beautiful thing, we are really hoping for just one to be in there this time around:-) Seth gets a little green everytime I mention multiples...he's warmed to the idea of twins and by warmed I mean he doesn't look nauseus everytime I say the word anymore but the word triplets still starts his head shaking and the green tint returns:-) Kidding aside, we will take whatever God has blessed us with and be grateful!! November 3rd is the day so keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep you updated:-) On another note, I'm still feeling pretty good and still hoping to skip the wonderful morning sickness that I'm hearing so much about!!

Pictures Part 2

And here are a few shots from our concert Saturday night:
Miles saying Good Bye to us! He got to have "Guys night" with Daddy, Grandpa,
Uncle Marc and Uncle Brian.

Yes, we are aware we look like the Brady Bunch....now if only we had all been wearing polyester and sparkles....

Robin and Jess showing their disappointment in the restaurant we chose:-(

We had awesome seats!!

It was a great concert!

Pictures from this weekend

As most of you know, my mom is the queen of the camera! Back when she used 35mm, we called her the Kodak Queen:-) So it will come as no surprise that she sent me some photos chronicling our weekend fun! Here are a few from dinner Friday night:
Grandpa and his little Twins fan

Seth admiring Blair's bling...I mean ring:-)

The Gang...minus Marc who had to stay home so he could go to work Sat morning:-(

Congrats to the newly engaged Brian and Blair and the parents-to-be Seth and Beth

Weekend Fun

As has become the norm, we had another busy and fun weekend. The fun started Friday night with dinner at my parent's house to celebrate my brother Brian's engagement to his beautiful fiance Blair! We are so excited to welcome her as an "official" member of our wacky family! Jen also decorated a cake to congratulate Blair and Brian and also added congrats for Seth and I on the impending arrival of Baby F:-) Saturday I spent the early afternoon with Seth's mom Cindy at the Women's Expo...LOTS of people and free stuff but nothing too big, the best item of the day was a new notepad and pencil for the grocery list paper pile:-) Saturday night Seth headed to the cities to a friend's wedding while I headed to Red Wing with the ladies for the Martina McBride concert! The tickets were a birthday gift for Robin's big 3-0 back in September. There were 6 of us that went: Robin, Mom, Jen, Blair, Jess (Kyle and Robin's soon to be sister-in-law) and me. We had dinner before the show at a restaurant that had pretty good food but service that left quite a bit to be desired...in the interest of avoiding a slander lawsuit, I'll leave the name of said restaurant out:-) Then it was on to the show! It was a GREAT concert...lots of good songs meant an evening of singing and dancing and good clean fun! Today was a relaxing day...church, quick stop by my parent's house to say hi to everyone and grab a Greseth muffin and slice of warm banana bread (yummy!), and then we headed to Mazeppa to watch the Vikings game with our good friends! Even though the Vikes didn't win, it was a good game! As usual at the Nelson's, the food was exceptional...beer-can chicken and baked potatoes:-) Here are a few pictures of Dan and Sarah's girls...Emma is 4 years old and Maggie is 7 months old, aren't they cute?!
Yum! Sweet potatoes are goooood!

All cleaned up!

Maggie loves her Jumparoo just like Miles!

Big sister Emma likes to "help" Maggie jump:-)

PS- I'm still feeling pretty good, no sickness yet, just tired...keep those fingers crossed that maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones that avoid morning sickness!!!

Baby Friedt

Well, it's only taken me about 6 months but here is my second post:-) As all of you know by now, Seth and I are expecting our first child June 20th, 2009 so the focus of the blog will most likely be about that! There isn't too much to report today other than I'm feeling pretty good, no morning sickness yet! I'm a little extra tired and my kidneys have been acting up some but that was expected as they had warned me I might have trouble with them during pregnancy. All worth it in the end I say! I haven't been to the Dr yet but will be going soon so I'll post again after that to keep everyone updated. In the meantime, I'll try to post about other things too:-) Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all of your kind wishes for Seth and I, we feel blessed to have such wonderful family and friends around us!!

First blog!!

Hi Everyone! OK, so it seems that everyone I know is creating a blog so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon! Basically I figure it will be a place to post a few pictures and updates in the Friedt Family happenings:-) Hopefully I'll be better about this than I am about email!
