Great Room Shift Update
I posted awhile back about how we had started the Great Room shift to get ready for the baby. At that time we had made minimal progress but progress nonetheless! Anyway, we had a HUGE leap forward a few weeks ago when my ever-so-helpful mom and sister came over and we emptied out the old office (now nursery) and organized some things in the new office/guest room with the rest migrating downstairs to storage. After that, all that was left was to paint the nursery and move the baby furniture in. And I'm MORE than excited to say that it happened last night!! Once again, my sister came through and brought over a few helpers too! Miles was site supervisor (he kept tabs on us all from the pack-n-play-see pic below) and Kyle was co-furniture mover with Seth. Seth also did his part in the painting (also see pic below) by rolling while Robin and "cut in". The whole thing took about 7 hours with 2 coats of paint, a dinner/American Idol break and finally furniture rearranging (and rearranging and rearranging again...sorry boys!) but it's done!! A BIG thanks to the Kroening family for their help, we could NOT have done it without you!! DISCLAIMER: Yes, Miles is in the room where we were painting but it was well ventilated and he was not in there for very long!

Baby aerobics
I forgot to mention in my previous post that after 21 LONG weeks of waiting, I can finally feel Baby Bean move!! The first time I know for sure I felt it was Monday. I was sitting at my desk and all of a sudden it felt like my stomach dropped, like I was on a roller coaster going down hill. After I looked around to be sure there had not in fact been any drop in altitude I figured out it was the baby!! I've been feeling it more and more the past few days now that I know what I'm feeling. After seeing him/her "dance" around on the screen yesterday I can't believe I haven't felt it sooner! But I have to say that it is an incredible feeling and I love it!! I might be eating those words in a few weeks when it's less like flutters and more like karate moves but I'm not sure because feeling it do anything is amazing!!
Baby update...finally:-)
So, I know it's been awhile since I posted about Baby F, I'm trying to do better but at this point (thankfully) there isn't much to report because everything is "cooking" along great:-) Anyway, we did go in for the "big" ultrasound yesterday...otherwise known as the Anatomy Ultrasound. To answer the question that we get asked the most these days...No, we did not find out the gender of the baby and don't plan to until he/she makes the big debut in June. I know, it's hard not to know! Trust me, yesterday when the tech turned the screen away so she could examine that part of the baby it took everything I had not to reach up and swing the screen back around to take a peek:-) But I know that we will be glad that we get that big surprise at the end:-) Anyway, back to the parts we DID see...Baby Bean is growing like a weed and VERY active! He/she seems destined for a career in ballet or marathon running as it's arms and feet are in constant motion! The most exciting news of the day was that the placenta has moved "up and out of the way" so there is no worry about placenta previa anymore, yay!! That was so relieving to find out! Other than that, we got to see the baby's heart, kidneys (thankfully no stones yet so hopefully I won't pass that little feature on!), brain, spine, arms, hands, legs and feet. Everything is normal and growing and developing as it should be. The funniest part of the experience was when she measured the baby's arm...she took the first measurement and said "Whoa, that is a really long arm, I better try that again" So, she measured a second time and said "Nope, I guess it was right the first time, this little one has really long arms!" I told Seth that when she said that my first thought was "Oh great, we're having some sort of ape child!" I guess we'll find out in June! Here are some pictures of the little Bean:
Profile shot, note the button nose:-)
Little feet, he/she had it's ankles crossed, laid back relaxing I guess!
