"I make duurt"

I decided that it would be fun to start growing a few little plants inside and then transplant them in a few weeks into the garden I intend to grow this year.  I know what you're thinking "Wasn't she going to plant a garden for the last 3 years and never did??"  True, I did intend to plant one every year but this year I mean it....I hope:-)  Seriously though, I think Josiah would get a lot out of watching the plants grow and then picking the food when it's ready.  One would think that it would be safe to start planting outside since it's already almost May but no, we have been getting snow, yes SNOW, for the past 2 days so we decided to plant indoors for now.  Josiah has no concept of seeds growing into anything so in his mind, we are growing dirt.  Oh well, he had fun anyway.  Check it out:-)

All set to plant!

Proud of a job well done!

Sunglasses come in handy outside too, who knew?

As I posted recently, Josiah has become QUITE a fan of his sunglasses and wears them whether indoors or out. Here are a few shots of him enjoying the benefits of having them on when there is ACTUAL sunshine to filter:-)

"Whassup people?"

"Sweet wheels Miles!"

"I color on the driveway!"

Cutting the curls

Against the advice of most people (grandparents, aunts, cousins, etc.) we decided that Josiah's hair needed to be cut.  While I think he was pulling off the shaggy hockey player look fairly well, it was time for a trim!  So it was Auntie Blair to the rescue once again but this time was a WHOLE different experience.  If you recall, the last time we cut his hair he was hysterical crying and saying NO as if she were cutting off his ears or fingers instead of just his hair.  We were prepared this time to have to hold him down and suffer through the screams but she used the clippers this time and apparently, that was the piece we were missing last time.  He sat like an angel the whole time and was mesmerized by the clippers.  Result: adorable little boy haircut.  And don't worry, the curls are already back:-)

"Hmm, what is that buzzing?"

"I'm not thrilled but since you are letting me keep my bookia (Nuk) I will sit here"

"Let me hold those for you Auntie Blair"

Thank you Auntie Blair, you're the best!!!

A little blurry but you get the idea...

Crunching numbers

This is how I found Josiah yesterday after we had come in from outside...I guess he needed to calculate something ASAP as he did not have time to take off his hat or coat before he got down to business.  Maybe I'll save this picture for future employers and label it "Dedicated Worker":-)

Spring has sprung!

Praise God, spring has arrived!!!  We spent the weekend doing "springy" things including fighting off the inevitable change of season cold for Seth.  Friday night we spent the evening with the Davidson's and helped Aubrey "spring" into her 2nd year of life as she turned one and had a very fun party!  Josiah's favorite part?  CAKE!  This boy definitely inherited his daddy's sweet tooth:-)  Aubrey on the other hand wasn't so thrilled about the cake, she was much more excited about the chicken sandwiches, she inherited her mommy's love of everything chicken:-)  I neglected to take any pictures but imagine a house full of family and fun and you'll get the image:-)

Saturday we took advantage of the nice weather to the fullest!  Josiah started the day donning his Twins gear to celebrate the season starting (yes, we know it started Friday but we choose not to claim that game as official, we will just call it an embarrassing practice round).  Josiah also had to sport his shades most of the day since he now declares that things are "too bright" and likes to have his glasses on...even indoors.  Yes Jan, it's a lot of look:-)

We stopped at Grandma and Papa's to say hi and play a little Ring around the Rosie with cousin Addie who was staying with them because she got a new brother on Thursday!!   Bennett Michael Myran arrived safe and sound as is an absolutely adorable little peanut!!  We are SO excited to have another cousin to love and spoil!!  Welcome Baby Bennett and congratulations Vanessa, Erik and big sister Addie!!(pictures coming soon!)

Cousin Addie and I are so cool!

Thanks for the "samich" Grandma!!

Saturday also had us joining a good portion of my family for a nice long walk and yummy lunch (thank you Auntie Jen for organizing!) followed by a 3 1/2 hour nap for Josiah, guess this boy has been missing the fresh air as much as the rest of us!  Hope everyone else was able to enjoy the warm weather too!

All the kids on the walk: L-R is Nick, Miles, Ellie, Josiah, Olivia, Sophia, Jocelyn and Callan (snuggled in his stroller but he's there!)
