Potty time

For the past few weeks Josiah has been begging to "go potty" every time he walks past the bathroom or is getting his diaper changed.  Now, I'm not really looking forward to potty training as a diaper seems so much simpler so thinking I could dissuade him, I plopped him on the big toilet where he stayed for 2 seconds and wanted off.  Mission accomplished?  No, that only made the requests louder and more frequent.  I wasn't too thrilled about holding a toddler on the potty for long stretches so I bought a small potty chair and figured he'd be content to at least be able to sit on it when he wanted.  And he is...but he has to be buck naked.  But sit he did, for long stretches he'd sit and SAY "go potty" but not actually go.  Until the other night that is...lo and behold, he went!!  He was more surprised than we were I think:-)  We made a big deal about it and how great it was but like I said, I'm not really looking forward to potty training as a diaper seems so much simpler:-)  But ready or not, it seems Josiah might have different ideas:

"Hey, look what I did?!"

"Bye bye potty"

Of course we had to "wah de hands"

What better way to celebrate a milestone than ice cream and a bookia?!

Yes, You are right, diapers are SO much easier! But it looks like Josiah is potty training himself!

Just go with it! Maybe he'll be one of those kids you think only exist in fairy tales and potty train in a jiffy! That is so great! Good luck. :)
