Nine months old already
**DISCLAIMER: I am behind with the pictures this month so those will be posted in a day or two**
Anywho, on with the update! Josiah is now nine months old and more fun every day!! He is really developing quite a personality and it is quickly becoming clear that this boy knows what he wants and when he wants it! He is perfectly content 99% of the time to sit or roll or scoot around and play but when he decides he's had enough of whatever room or position he is in, he is not at all shy about letting us know. Sometimes, he starts with "polite" whining but that quickly escalates to full on squealing just in case someone didn't hear him....from the next block over! We are working on patience...the concept has escaped him so far but now that cousin Miles knows the words to the "Have Patience" song, we are hopeful that he'll teach Josiah:-)
Food is the news of the month, he has decided that bottles are somewhat overrated and prefers "real" food instead. His favorites so far are peas, green beans and pears. He has also discovered that puffs and graham sticks are a wonderful thing too. He gets VERY excited when we sprinkle a few puffs on his tray and scoops them up as quickly as possible. Again, we are working on patience:-) Sippy cups are still a bit of a mystery to him but he thinks it's fun to grab on to them and chew on the spout so we're getting there!
We had his 9 month well baby check on Friday and he was once again declared "perfectly healthy" by his doctor. The best part of this month's visit was NO SHOTS!! Yay!! He was not super excited about the Dr. looking in his ears but other than that, he was smiley and happy the whole time. Here are the stats:
Weight: 20.5 pounds (53%)
Height: 28.5 inches (61%)
They also measured his head circumference and noted that it had jumped from the 40th percentile to above the 97th so they are going to watch that. They watch for signs of hydrocephalus with babies whose heads are...ahem, large. Personally, I like to think that he was just being considerate of his mommy to be born with a small head and then let it grow once he was out but that's just me:-) We also chalk it up to all the smarts he has acquired in the past few months but we are not experts:-) Developmentally he is right on track so they aren't really worried but will watch just in case.
All in all, he is a happy, healthy baby boy and we are enjoying every moment of being his parents!! Hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!!
