Wow! That word is as close as it comes to summing up what it feels like to bring a baby into this world. There are so many emotions that flood in, it borders on ridiculous! I never thought I could feel such extreme happiness, terror, fear, joy, and love all at once but due to the wonders of the pregnancy/birth/breastfeeding/motherhood hormones, I have felt that and more in the past 7 days! Having said that, I wouldn't trade this for anything. Everyone always told me about the immense love that you feel for your child the moment you see him/her but as they also told me, you can't describe or imagine it until it happens to you! I look at Josiah and can't believe that he's ours and that God has trusted us with this precious, beautiful life to raise and cherish. Anyway, I'll stop now or I'll be crying like a baby soon (also thanks to the wonders of the hormones)!! We are slowly adjusting to life at home with Josiah. Our house looks like Babies-R-Us threw up in here and things are in a bit of disarray but thanks to my wonderful husband, the house has stayed as orderly as it can be! I am learning a lesson in letting go of the little things and he is making sure that the major clean up/upkeep is done, bless his heart!! We are both figuring out what Josiah needs and how he goes about telling us about those needs. I'm in charge of food but Seth has taken over the cuddling after meals and putting Josiah down for his mid-day naps so that I can shower and eat so we are learning the parenting partnership roles pretty quickly:-) Yesterday we took Josiah to the Dr. for a follow-up weight check appointment because they wanted to be sure he was gaining weight and he is! He was 6 lbs 12 oz at birth and dropped to 6 lbs 6 oz by the time we went home Saturday. As of yesterday he is on his way back to his birth weight and now weighs in at 6 lbs 10 oz. The doctor says he's healthy and a cutie, and frankly, we have to agree:-) Here's a few more pictures from the past couple of days, enjoy!

Sweet! A little birdie told me we may be seeing you tomorrow evening...I don't want to call and interrupt a possible nap or feeding time, so if we see you, great, and if not, no worries! I know how these first few weeks go, and I don't want you to be stressed out! :) Love the new pictures!
